THE CONTEXT
A company-specific plan deserves a close fit.
Employee stock option programs are shaped by each company’s own plan. The company needed a practical way to track option grants for employees without forcing its program into a generic process.
Cost mattered too. The challenge was to meet the organization’s particular administrative needs while keeping the solution affordable.
OUR WORK
Purpose-built for employee grants.
Denting the Universe developed a stock option management system tailored to the company’s specific program. Its central purpose was to track option grants for employees in a way that fit the plan the company actually used.
The engineering challenge was to represent employee grants in the context of this specific plan, while keeping the system focused enough to deliver at a low cost. Administrators could work with a purpose-built record of grants instead of adapting their process to a broad, generic platform.
WHY IT MATTERS
A close fit can still be affordable.
Customization is most valuable when it serves a clear need. Here, the company received software designed around its own stock option program without taking on the cost of a large, broad implementation.
The project illustrates our approach to specialized business systems: understand the rules and the people administering them, then build the focused capability the organization needs.
